Hi! I’m Niklas Spanggaard Gundersen, a Danish Master’s student, cybersecurity analyst, and the founder of this blog, Achievoz.

So, Who Am I?

Let me tell you a little bit more about my journey.

You could argue I started my cybersecurity career back in 2020, when I took my first step towards an Engineering degree.

This was when I first encountered terms like SIEM, DDoS, Pentesting and so forth. In 2022, I landed my first cybersecurity relevant job as a Cyber Security Analyst at a Danish information security company. This was the first time I experienced hands on what cybersecurity is like in the industry.

In 2023, I transitioned to an international biosolutions company, taking on the role of a Security Analyst in their IT department. Now, you might be thinking, “But Niklas, you don’t have 12 years of software development experience or 8 years experience as a pentester! You haven’t even finished your education yet?” True – I’m still in the early stages of my career. But here’s the thing: in cybersecurity, passion and a willingness to learn are just as crucial as years of experience. Of course experience matters, but we all have to start somewhere, right!

Getting Started

Starting out, gaining practical experience is invaluable – not only for learning but also for building a resume that opens up new career opportunities.

However, what you do in your spare time can be just as, if not more, impactful. Why? Because this is where you get to experiment with the topics that excite you, sharpen your skills, and build a solid foundation of knowledge.

That is also where this blog comes into the picture, and one of the driving factors to the establishment of Achievoz.

Why I started Achievoz?

I started this blog Sep 1st 2024 as a hobby project, sharing my experiences, tutorials, guides and reviews.

You can see Achievoz as a hybrid – part personal blog, part cyber security resource. It’s a platform for learning, staying on top of the latest trends, and exploring the ever-evolving world of cybersecurity and technology.

Why Cybersecurity?

I am often asked, “Why cybersecurity?” Honestly, I’ve always been fascinated by technology. Ever since I was a kid, I was amazed by how you could call someone on the other side of the world and actually talk to them. How on earth is that possible!?

Still fascinates me to this day, even though I have since gotten a good grasp of what goes on behind the scenes in telecommunicaton.

Alright, so back to the question. Why Cybersecurity? Despite the massive advancements over the past 20 years, cybersecurity remains a constantly evolving field where you must stay sharp, stay updated, and stay one step ahead of potential threats.
I really like to test things, try to break into things, explore and develop – cybersecurity fullfill all of these boxes for me.

So to sum up – that was what attracted me. Help safegauarding others, explore, develop and most importantly, not getting bored!

Oh, I’m glad you asked!
I’m into almost everything that involves sports – football, Formula 1, tennis, you name it. But when I’m not on the move, I love unwinding with a good series or movie. I also love to play around with technology and create fun projects.
